What is the book about?

I think the book is about exciting adventures. Living in a cave and not seeing the light, the old goblin always wanted to know what was happening outside in the world. While his relatives stuff their bellies with meat and grog, being satisfied with only this, our hero prefers to immerse himself in a world of fantasy and instructive stories.

This reminds me of a game where you play as a baker girl, killing animals who are your customers. Don't know the game's name but it both lit, and it gave me nightmares where I was chopped till I was just a torso and a head.
